Please read through the guidelines for the service you need before you send us your files.

Recording guidelines

Before we book a recording the following needs to be considered.

Are you ready to enter the studio?

  • The song is completely finished?
  • Have you practiced enough?
  • Do all musicians know their parts?

The recording studio is no place for practice. Please make sure you know the song or songs you intend to record before we start a session.

Deposit

A deposit of 25% deposit of the total estimated cost must be paid to confirm the recording session.

Cancellation

Cancellation of the recording session must take place at a minimum of 2 weeks before the agreed upon start date. If a cancellation takes place less than 2 weeks before the recording session, the client will be billed for the full estimated cost of the session. The 25% deposit is not refundable under any circumstances.

Editing guidelines

Please send us all the multi-tracks instruments for the song/songs that needs editing. Even if you only need the drums edited, the other tracks are vital to hear to keep the essential feel of the performance.

Please be absolutely specific when you book us for your editing requirements. We will only edit the tracks you ask us to edit. For example; if you request we edit the timing on drums – We will only edit the drum tracks, and all other instruments/tracks will be left un-edited.

For further information please see the ”General guidelines” section below.

Mixing guidelines

Make sure your song/songs are ready for mixing.

  • All takes are comped and set.
  • Edits are done. (This is a service we supply if needed.)
  • Every drum sample is set (We offer drum replacements if you need them)
  • All files start at the same position
  • All tracks are named correctly and specifically. For example, tracks should be labeled: Kick, Snare, Rack Tom 1, Rythm guitar, Lead Guitar etc – after the specific instrument they represent.
  • Please include a rough mix of the track/tracks if you have one available.
  • It is important to specify the tempo/tempos of every song. Either as a midi file or as a text file.
  • For accuracy, you can provide reference tracks, preferably as a Spotify playlist with tracks that have the specific sound you like and thus help us achieve a mix closer to what you want on your own recordings.

Please note that editing is not included in the mixing process. If editing is needed we provide that as a separate service. Should we feel you require editing you will be contacted and the details explained.

Deposit

A 25% deposit must be paid before we book a mixing session. Once the deposit has been paid in full you will be contacted with available starting dates. The remaining balance is due at the latest the day before the set starting date. If you need a few extra days to get the payment together we allow up to one week for the payment to be done. After the mix has met the clients’ requirements and expectations a download link will be sent for the finished mix of your songs.

Delivery

We usually deliver a finished mix for revision of a song within 12 hours from the starting date. This applies to single song mixes. If we mix more than one song, For example. an EP or album it will naturally take a little bit longer due to the project it self being larger.

For further information please see the ”General guide lines” section below.

Mastering guide lines

Make sure your mix is ready for master

  • Everyone involved in the recording (musicians, managers, labels, girlfriends, etc.) are happy with the mix
  • The mix is not ”Brick-walled” meaning there is some headroom left for our mastering engineer to further the sound production.
  • There is space left before the song starts and after the song ends to make fades

Most masters are done with a stereo mixdown of the song. How ever we do offer Stem (mono or stereo) mastering if required.
